QuickCorrect
The QuickCorrect feature in WordPerfect can automatically correct most common typing errors. If it hasn’t been enabled, you can do so from Tools > QuickCorrect and enable Replace Words As You Type. In addition to correcting general mistakes, you can also add your own errors and their corrected versions. To add a word, type the misspelled word in the Replace box and in the With box, type the correct spelling. Click on Add Entry to add. Since QuickCorrect simply replaces specific words with others in its list, you can use it to expand abbreviations of most commonly used words. So you could simply type ‘tnt’ and it would automatically expand to ‘Tips & Tricks’.

Make It Fit
If you’ve been wondering how to get those last few lines overflowing to the eleventh page back onto the tenth, use the Make It Fit command. Select the pages that you want to fit and click on Format > Make It Fit. You can then select which of the page parameters (margins, font size, line spacing, etc.) it should modify for fitting the text. Click on Make it Fit to apply.

Text Toolbars
If pictured icons on your toolbar seem more confusing that intuitive, you can change the icons to text. That way you know exactly what the buttons do. To change your toolbar icons to text, right click a toolbar and click on Settings. Click on Options and select Text under Button appearance.

Watermarks
Adding watermarks to your documents can help impart an aesthetically pleasing look. Click on Insert > Watermark and enable Watermark A. Click on Create and draw the area for the watermark. Select the appropriate graphic item from the context menu and select the image for the watermark. Click on File > Close to update the original document.

AutoScroll
Don’t have a middle mouse button or a scroll wheel on your mouse? You can still scroll through your documents in WordPerfect 9 with ease. Just click on the Autoscroll button on the toolbar and move the mouse in the direction you want to scroll. Click once to deactivate Autoscroll.
